MY TEACHING PLAN

In planning my lessons at SMKN 4, I learned that senior high students here start from grades 10 to 12, following a K-12 curriculum with distinct levels, while junior high encompasses grades 6 to 9. Given that English is a foreign language in Indonesia, it's essential to adjust my teaching to ensure comprehension. To bridge the language gap, I incorporate Bahasa translations in my PowerPoint slides, and I’m learning essential Bahasa keywords for each lesson.

This approach helps students better understand my explanations, as most are not yet fluent in English. My first class on analytical text exposition was with the tourism department, where some students understood English, but I made sure to speak slowly to support those still learning.

My next topic, the passive voice, required guiding students in transforming active sentences into passive forms—challenging, as they had limited grammar background. However, I adapted my methods to simplify explanations and offer ample examples. My cooperating teacher, Ibu Nessa, was incredibly supportive, offering valuable insights to improve my teaching strategies. My student buddies Hasbi, Mei, and Fifi also played an instrumental role, helping me explain concepts in Bahasa when needed. This teamwork and cultural exchange have enriched my teaching experience, making each class more effective and engaging for students.

Assalamualaikum! Come with me to explore the things beyond my boarder
